I commissioned Hattonslayden hattonslayden.deviantart.com/ for coverart for my crime drama inspired story "On Duty Contact" with the two main characters Damien Holt (my character) and Reanamon from the digimon series.

I couldn't be happier with the end result and I'm very thankful for the time and effort he has put into this. Actually, this particular layout was suggested by himself and is much better than what I originally had in mind.

For those interested in the story, here is the background and synopsis:

This story takes place in a world where humans and anthropomorphic beings coexist rather than existing only in secret as my previous stories have followed. This story will retain similar themes (ie Human/Anthro relationships) like “One With Nature” and “My Hunter, My Lover” but presented in the style of a crime drama with heavy inspiration from the T.V show “Southland”. If you are a fan of the show then I think you will be able to see the D.N.A of that in my story.

While this story features anthro characters of natural species, it also includes small elements of the Digimon universe, although this is merely an excuse for me to have Renamon as a character since I am not a fan of the show but find her an attractive character. Although they exist in this world they are not “digital monsters” as such, they are simply unusual breeds of animals with no superpowers.

Synopsis:

Young Centaur Valley Police Officer, Damien Holt, will soon find himself embroiled in a web of conflicting feelings and motivations when a young, well off Kitsune named Renamon becomes a victim of sexual hate crimes and quickly finds her way under his skin. Turning an on duty contact into an off duty relationship is against policy but fits into his desire to help those victimized by those who hate. However, when he becomes involved in a controversial shooting, tensions in the city skyrocket as total chaos threatens to break out. Holt struggles between his sworn duty and his own personal feelings as those responsible for Rena's plight plan their next move.

Renamon, meanwhile, struggles with her recovery and her desire for vengeance on those who assaulted her. Her assault distances her from everyone, except the young police officer who promised her that it would all be okay. He may just be the only person she trusts, but will her desire for vengeance only place them both in more danger? Can their be any hope for their relationship in a city where old hatred still festers and race is the center of everything?
