This was going to be just a simple concept painting, but then I was having too much fun with the moss and it became a complete painting.

This is a concept to kind of test out this imagery for my comic. These are the Watchers of Elliswood. They watch travelers to know which ones they should take as prey, then they show themselves. It is easy to trust their fair song and appearance, but don't let that fool you. After they lure you hopelessly lost in to the forest, they'll show their hidden mouths and devour you.

I kind of like the idea of Elliswood being a 'drunken forest', but I came to that idea halfway through the painting. If I were to do it again I would have made the trees horribly lopsided and tilting.
