Cairde

Birone

Some old art from August that I forgot to upload here.

From left to right: Lúlú, Rírá, Neilí and Micí.

These characters from from some very old Irish textbooks for infants in primary school.

You can see them here:

Even I remember them when I was young!

They've been reprinted recently and I thought, hey, why not draw 'em? So here you go!

So humour me: are there any animal characters you remember from school textbooks? What do they look like?

    hehe Very cute!

Old characters? I don't remember any anthropomorphic characters from back then. I do remember one book of a boy who had a pet moose. The moose actually saved a school of kids when the boy rode the moose through a snow blizzard. No one believed he rode the moose until they saw the foot prints end where the moose tracks begin.

The moose was not really tame. The moose did not mind the boy on his back but was not aware that low branches and sudden turns would make the boy fall off.

Oh cool, very interesting. Is that where the Timmie/Hugewolf dynamic came from?
