I'm Not Afraid

BardaWolf

When you're a macro you're used to everyone being terrified of you. So it can be a very special experience when somebody isn't.
Case in point, this arctic fox boy. I have no idea why, but children specifically seem to be more comfortable around giants than adults. This one had been singled out and teased for his heterochromia. Even called an omen and a sign of bad luck by some of the more superstitious in the group of refugees. Maybe his own experiences as an outcast led to him seeing through my large size and intimidating features. But from his stance to his expressions there was no fear present, and we ended up talking for hours and even playing a bit.
Joe was his name, and despite being soft spoken and quiet from the onset he soon slid into the playfulness of a regular pup, running around, playing, a little bundle of energy.

I'm not quite satisfied with this one. I think I went overboard with the copic marker, and anatomically he's not quite right. However, this was an image I just had to share since it popped into my head a few weeks ago. His clothing and hair are loosely inspired by a favorite character of mine from an old anime I used to watch.
