Damn, its really been a while since I've posted something here. Ballads are pretty interesting, this was my take on one, though ballads are commonly acknowledged to be associated with lyrics nowadays, I personally have been more impressed with the structure of a song as opposed to the lyrics. Ballads are also generally set to be in a positive mood, so I knew that would be a good change for the general direction of my work which would usually incorporate darker undertones and influences, which isn't bad, but after a while you start to crave something else. This track was pretty fun, had a lot of influences that I didn't really get too direct with, in fact, I don't think they would really be recognized from this track. Oh well, I wanted the beat to have a nice punch to it and have that hybrid sound of something natural but still a bit synthetic, I was aiming for that to symbolize a strong, rhythmical heartbeat. I couldn't think of another complimenting instrument to go in with the song alongside the piano and string section so I resorted to using an 8-bit synth. The guitar-like synth in the background of the track (not too bold as to change the style and feel of the song) was extensively worked on to sound as real as I could possibly get it to at the time. I was fairly proud of how this one came out, hope you guys enjoy it too.~
