Happy Birthday, serenajewel serenajewel

I’m one day late, but…I actually finished this yesterday, just scanning & processing took me ages. ^^;

What you see here, is a selection of images from a 20 page Fursona Passport. It’s my birthday gift for my dear friend Serena Jewel. =)

Check out some of the interior pages, here:

Interior colour pages
Seasonal Clothing pages
Misc. pages, multiple characters, pets, travel...
Favorite activities

The idea behind this passport is, that you have a fully detailed reference pass (+photo ID, actually, but that one’s not in here) that can be handed to artists at a convention (or as pdf document, online) and give them a full and round understanding of your character without too many words to read.

I am both, an artist & a commissioner at cons and online and my experience is that (especially at cons) communication & time is limited and large bulks of text reference can pose an issue. At cons, nobody has time, not the artist, not the commissioner. If a sketchbook is handed to the artist to wing-in-it - the artist might as well be a little lost, even if a reference sheet is present.
I do not know this character…
What do they like?
How do they dress?
If adult: what kind of things are they into?
If not adult: what’s an interesting situation I can draw this character in?

Usually, neither me, nor the commissioner has time to elaborate on such questions and because this usually is the case, previous drawings in that sketchbook handed to me might or might not be as uninspired as I feel in that moment. But the clock is ticking! So if I try to draw inspiration from the only thing I have, - previous sketch book entries - I might end up doing something the commissioner doesn’t really want!
I know a case in which a sketchbook was passed about and the character had been drawn with a cookie at some point. What happened next where 10 pages of that character with any sort of cookie or pastry - which the owner wasn’T especially happy with.
To avoid stuff like that, Serena and me came up with this neat idea of having a really detailled reference for your character, as little text as possible AND a hell lot of comprehensive ideas like clothing style, relationships, activities this character is actually enjoying, etc!
I sure would LOVE that as an artist for reference, especially at cons OR to have something comprehensive like this about one of my own characters just for myself to enjoy!

I have ONE slot open for a sketchbook commission like that at the moment! Please head over to this Google Docs form and fill it out if you are interested. :)

NOTE:

There is no basic fee for this type of commission as YOU are the one to decide what kind of pages and how many pages you want.

The offer starts at about 30€ - if you just want the passport book a cover design & one sketch for example. But you could also ask for the passport book and a single sketch, and not ask for the logo etc...
So it is really up to you and when you fill out the Google Docs form, I will send you a quote for the entire piece, anyway.
And if you order more pages, discounts apply for the overall thing that I will discuss with you in private after filling out the form.
I try to be as flexible as possible, here, guys! It's all for you! <3 Don't be shy to ask questions.

I can do something like this with any type of character, by the way, not just anthro characters!
