Ingrid cops an attitude

Balina

The unexpected success of the officer enhancement program has come with drawbacks that become more obvious and problematic as time goes by. While her loyalty has never been in doubt, Ingrid's attitude has grown increasingly aloof; sometime after outgrowing the enlarged door frames of the precinct, she came to the all-to-common conclusion that anyone weaker than her impossible standard no longer has authority over how she chooses to fulfill her duties. This is not particularly unusual for anyone who goes through what Ingrid has; something about becoming an unstoppable titan tends to give people an ego, and usually a single-minded obsession with strength. In more traditional supersoldier projects, control is the top priority, maintained or re-established through conditioning, chemical alteration, or in extreme cases physical implants, and solidified long before the subject can punch through anything tougher than a plywood board. As the program that produced her was never meant to go this far, and was done on a group already known to be doggedly loyal, Ingrid does not have anything beyond her RCGs to keep her in check. Further, orders from somewhere in command have been very firm that Ingrid is not to be altered, even through RCG manipulation, without explicit instructions; she has clearly become someone's pet project.

This leaves Precinct 551 with a very difficult problem. What do you do with an officer you are not allowed to discipline, but is too dangerous to use?

Ingrid was a bit of a happy accident. I have a feeling that I'm misremembering some details here, but from what I recall the original genesis was the idea that the previously-unrelated images of this young recruit and a significantly-beefier officer were actually the same character give or take some Korpsian influence. Which, of course, meant thinking about extrapolating into a yet larger version of her. Which led to getting a picture of the Counselor inspecting the precinct. And then, as things often do, they got out of hand.
