Heh. I was a huge fan of "Garfield" when I was a kid, so it may have been sub-conscience decision. Although I was thinking he looks close to Roger in "FoxTrot"

nuhhhh cause john's dad was rly inbred and therefore i can see his head being pointier etc and roger had a more square face and head
