Jareth can sometimes be too eager to play the white knight, including offering Kira safe, dry passage across a flooded field. And the fact that he's got sandals on doesn't seem to bother him. Though Kira seems to find the whole thing silly, since it would've made so much more sense to find an alternate route, and that one of Jareth's sandals is now a permanent resident of the muck.
