Although she may not seem it initially, Mei is incredibly insecure about herself, her appearance and how she portrays herself to others. This may be partly the reason why she doesn't have many friends, teamed with the fact that her race is considered a dangerous predator is a sure fire recipe to ensure mei stays without company, she has managed to make one friend in snowball though so shes not quite as lonely as she otherwise would be and has a couple of people to turn too about her emotions!
