Chevy Terrae, The Kiln of the Arcane by AuraTwilight

Chevy Terrae, The Kiln of the Arcane

AuraTwilight

This is my other boyfriend halcyonheartbeat halcyonheartbeat's first D&D character.

Magic. Whether from the gods, the soul, or the natural world, it all leads to the same effect of twisting the laws of nature. Making will into reality. All of it is made out of the same flames of creativity, passion, and power. And there are those who can control that flame...

Spellfire, it's called, and once an era, there are those kissed with an unnatural control over magic that goes deeper than any sorcerer or fairy. Even the gods must be wary of one who wields the musters of magic itself.

Chevy Terrae was a human once. A human who is this eon's Spellfire slinger. As a child, he was noticed by magical geniuses, and he was taken from his family and experimented on. Every willworking they could think of to divine his true nature and capability, they did it.

His form and soul were twisted, his mind broken several times, and his heart shattered. It didn't take too long before his very life gave out.

That was not the end of his story. His innocent, still childlike soul found itself in Elysium, where he met a bard named Paimon. A wolf creature like himself, he seemed entirely different. He was comforting. He was wise. He was kind.

They must have talked for hours, and Paimon took the time to put every puzzle piece of his heart together, and told him he had to live. And that he had somewhere to be.

"Onegai. Only you can do this for me. Go there."

Chevy awoke, having beaten death. Spellfire was more than just the flinging of burning mana. It was so much more. What was he, really? What was this power, and why did he have it? To answer those questions, and to return Paimon's kindness, Chevy escaped.

Chevy now lives as a bard in emulation of his childhood hero. He has little to go on, but he will grant the one wish Paimon asked of him. He has nothing else.
