Dolly Mendal - Character Sheet (critique requested)

Atreya

Meet Dolly, guys. She's an English Setter. She's a 19 year old self-employed interior decorator and handyman/woman. Despite Dolly's appearance she comes from a very wealthy background, growing up in New York City. After volunteering overseas in France for a flood relief at 14, Dolly started realizing how fickle her family was with money and determined not to be like that anymore, started doing carpentry among other things to keep herself occupied. At age 16, Dolly's parents bought a beautiful cottage and property for her outside of Paris, which Dolly began to frequently visit and started doing renovations on. When she was 18, she moved to her house and opened Dolly Me Up, her own interior decorating and home improvement business out of her home in Paris ardently working to support herself.

On a side note, Dolly was created for one of my classes, and she came to me out of nowhere on inspiration when I was looking at clothes and found a denim jumper that I thought looked more like a maintenance outfit. I have completely fallen in love with this character, I'm happy to say. She's most likely going to get her own little comic.

It looks nice but since you've asked for critique -

    • even when looking directly from the side we will see some bit of her (in this case right) leg, otherwise it looks like she doesn't have one. Note how it is very hard to keep both legs in exactly the same position as you stand. Adding just a bit of her knee and shoe can fix this.
    • learn to use adjustments in your scanner's software and/or whatever art software you use, this would look better without the noise; it's not a fault but your art deserves being displayed properly!

Keep up the good work. :)

Thank you so much, I'll have to keep that in mind next time I do a turnaround sheet, I wondered myself if it looked off but I wasn't sure. As for the picture's quality, it's taken with a camera - I unfortunately have no access to my scanner right now so if I upload anything that looks like this, it's going to be updated when I can get back to my house. Thank you for your honesty and great feedback!
