FOR SALE! https://www.etsy.com/listing/207761483/leather-autumn-leaf-armor-for-larp
I'm so proud of how this armor turned out. This is the first set of armor I've made that I feel totally happy with, and the price tag reflects it. I've moved beyond my “trying to figure out armor” phase and into my “this stuff is for reals” phase. Every square inch of this armor is textured and tooled with the membranous lines, and the central ridges are raised up. It's very fun to touch.
A little bit about this set! Each piece of leather (except the belt straps) is molded and textured, so every square inch of this armor is detailed. Each leaf has four separate colors of dye layered together for contrast and has a molded central ridge for a striking look and feel. The armor is constructed of 8-9 oz. leather so it's fairly sturdy, but wouldn't be considered SCA legal. However, this means it's lightweight and easy to wear for an entire day. The chest panels are articulated to allow a wide range of motion--it's easy to sit, bend over, lie down, etc. I wish I had added some green to the browns and oranges for more contrast, but I wasn't sure how nicely it would work. I think it looks fine even so.
I also challenged myself to finish this in a week, and I did… by putting in 12-14 hour days and not taking any breaks. I forgot to pee and eat quite often. So goes the mania!
That being said, I'm still very interested in critique! :D
