This piece was a request from my little sister, named after a poem she wrote by the same name. She is working on a poetry book of 100 poems and she had a vision for the illustrations. It was a style that I was unable to accomplish, but I still enjoyed working on it for her and did what I could to make it a good gift~

Originally she requested that I make her this piece in an American traditionalist tattoo style. Tried as hard as I could yet, (a) I had struggles with the nose and the angle of the face; I had to initially sketch it backwards and flip it digitally; and (b) I couldn't not make it look anime, I just couldn't... 'cept the hair, which I dig. It's a very personal poem for her and I know the story behind it, so I think I got a little too in my head about making something she'd like :P About half way though working on it I decided "fuck it, let's just have a good time making something I'm proud of that decently resembles Aubrey's request." I re-read her poem then hopped back to work, finishing the piece with a decent bit of experimentation, hence all the different versions I ended up with lolz (Total = 7 versions)

My favorite of all the versions is the glitchy one with the black hair and best red lighting of all the completed versions at the end of my speedpaint video (I really gotta work on my contrast once I get the hang of digital art; it's something I struggle with traditionally too). I made the blonde versions, however, because after showing my sister those (and she agreed with me that that was her favorite too), she requested that I change a couple details, since the initial vision was already skewed. I still favor this version, however; I think it's the best of the bunch personally.
