Mini portrait (3.5 x 5 inches) done with black, sepia and a little bit of red India ink washes on watercolor paper with some additional lines applied by pen.

May be a paper thing too. I have one watercolor paper that lets things bleed all over the place while the one I use the most seems to keep the ink wash contained. I also do a lot of waiting between layers so I know the paper is completely dry before going at it again. :)

I must say, considering the mediums used. I am utterly amazed by how clean the rendering of this piece is.
Whenever I attempted watercolors on my end, it always feels it ends up being "Bolor bleeding, EVERYWHERE!"
