The original instrumental I had in mind for this piece was just a piano, however in almost every sound patch I tried the midrange notes overpowered the higher ones, thus why a synthesizer ended up being the instrument of choice for this piece. Aside from that, the choir sound used took a lot of tweaking as well, as I had to alter the patch to have enough attack to not sound percussive, but at the same time not to slow so the shorter notes wouldn't sound out. In all, this piece took about 2 hours to put together.
