Beverley Minster (1) by Aremay

Beverley Minster (1)

Aremay

Beverley Minster is larger than one-third of all the cathedrals in England; whilst it does not belong to that exclusive club, the size and beauty of this church propels it into the top most rankings of English churches. Flowing in style from some of the very earliest English Gothic at the East to the final form at the West end, Beverley exudes an alluring beauty and charm that has kept me going back so many times.

This shows the Minster from the south side, with the two West front towers on the left, the nave behind that, Hawksmoor's low stumpy central tower and the two sets of transepts, one peering out behind the other.

      Thank you kindly :)

I've not had much time to go around Sir Gilbert Scott's Anglican Giant, but I think it's more a solid statement of metropolitan pride than Beverley, which is more refined old lady in her country town. Each to their own! Thank you for favouriting :)
