There is a Mortal kombat-like game out there called Primal rage, in it you control sentient beast gods that rise up to dominate the earth after
a "meteor" hits it and reshapes the lands.
Well as the novel sequel shows, its really the space ship of Necrosan, the deity of death. And all the other gods have to join forces to fight him off.

But I was not satisfied with the character selection and I've added a few to that pantheon to expand my own lore.
One of the characters is an ape called Chaos, deity of decay. He was a scientist/witch doctor who, through research, managed to transform himself into a big hairy (And disgusting!) ape god.
Well Order is his opposite and was his partner/lover (While they were human, and now only when hes in human form) who also wanted to ascend to godhood. Well her transition was successful and she retained her mind and she didn't shape shift into a beast form while she was at it.
Unlike a lot of the other Primal gods, Order is a deity of knowledge and development, her followers enjoy tech that we in the modern world don't have. (Flying cars, holograms etc.) All under the protection (and shadow of dat black booty) of this towering woman deity.
In battle she utilizes techy gauntlets and boots to help fight against godly fang and claw.
I'm thinking of expanding this as a series, Diablo could be a Palpatine like humanoid, Sauron is a super buff body builder etc XD
