I was just looking at this and thinking how close it was to how my desk is set up and what it would take to make my setup more like it/better in general. Basically I need someone to design easily adjusted arms that can very quickly be locked into place so that when I type my keyboard doesn't run away from me.
Six arms would help too, but I think that one requires a bit more work than the other.

Most of the setup is, honestly, based on a dentist's office. She's constantly shuffling around what input devices are in front of her, which monitors are in view, etc.
Keyboard arms that work like you're asking for do exist, but they're not typically cheap. Something like this would be great, but $250 apiece seems ludicrous for most desks. I think Balina just repurposes parts left over from the robotics labs or something.-
I did actually look into it after I posted the comment. I am a programmer and game designer who spends most of their day working on a computer, I could justify $250 for a more convenient/comfortable setup. I'm moving soon and have to disassemble my desk anyway, so this image has actually been weighing in on my thoughts of how to put it back together...
