I made another mistake. You found me in the middle of it all. The color drained from your face and you started shaking. You said nothing to me as you rushed over, prying my fingers open so the blade fell from it. Before I knew it, you were binding my new scars, tighter then I myself ever tied them. And then there's silence. You're hunched over, head hung between your arms and that's when I hear it. The sound of you crying. It's heartbreaking to my ears and I feel so ashamed. I want to reach out and touch you, to apologize for what I've done but just as I'm about to touch your hand, your voice reaches my ears.

"You promised...you promised you'd call me if you ever felt like cutting...Alix...you lied to me..."

"...I'm sorry..." is all I can say. You've heard it so many times before but there's nothing else I can say to you at this point. I messed up and I know it.

"I don't want to find you dead..."

My hand lingers, hovering over yours at the last words you speak before breaking down further and without a word, I lower my hand onto yours, gripping as tightly as I can, hunching over to bury my face against your hair, letting my own tears slip down my face.
