Designing Frank's Home by AlkaliRoo

Designing Frank's Home

The town shook just slightly, rhythmically, in time to the steps of the colossal bird looming over the skyline. The city folk looked up at their neighbor with a smile and a wave, one he returned in kind. Resting his hand atop an office building and bending over to get a better look at the ground he couldn’t help but feel his feathers fluff up happily. What a dream come true.

Frank had only just moved to the city a few days earlier. He used to live in a small village along with several other animals and a human mayor. But the village these days had seemed a little too small. Emphasis on small of course. There wasn’t nearly enough room there for a two hundred foot tall bird to spread his wings.

Even in this short time he felt like he was finally at home. Everyone had welcomed him with open arms (and no shortage of food from the fast food restaurants too). The park was opened up for him to use as his home and he got the occasional visitor interested in hanging out. There was plenty of room in the park, but even more room in the city for him to walk around, say hi to people, peek into office buildings, the usual stuff for a giant bird.

In return he brought money in from tourists. A win-win for everyone involved. Except maybe the cleanup workers. And the city streets. He was pretty heavy on the pavement after all.

Right now he was busy heading back toward the park actually. The sun was starting to set and he’d had a long day exploring the suburbs around the city. It still hit him on occasion just how perfect this situation really was. He’d gotten used to being giant, but just thinking of it sometimes was enough to make him tweet happily. He needed to get back to the park soon though; placing his hands on the building and looming over everything was tiring and he didn’t want to get in anyone’s way late at night.

Frank pulled his letter jacket tighter. He waved down again at the pedestrians but started to walk away quickly toward the park with a visible blush to his cheeks. A few accidental bumps into the sides of buildings and a crushed car later, he finally arrived. With a heavy sigh and a heavier flop to the ground, Frank started to make himself comfortable. A nearby apartment complex was covered up with his letter jacket when he took it off his lightly muscled, feathered chest. It made a perfect coat rack and privacy screen. The privacy wasn’t great anyway, thanks to all the other buildings but it was the best he could do. Basically out in the open he stretched out across the majority of the park, closed his eyes…

And then he opened his eyes back in his home.

Still laying in his bed, Frank looked around the room and sighed. Lifting equipment, a closet for his letter jackets, his bed… it wasn’t the city scape like in his dream. It was such a nice dream. And if the home designers would just show up, they could get this house looking like something more from that dream.

The eagle nearly fell out of his bed when someone knocked on the door. Scrambling to let them in, he stepped aside to let two otters in red jackets come in.

“Good morning, squeak! We’re here from Nook’s Homes. I’m Alkali,” the grey otter said.

“And I’m Buizilla. We’re the designers you requested, bui bui. Are you Frank?” the orange otter asked, adjusting his glasses.

Frank perked. “Yeah, that’s me. It’s so great to see you two, crushy. Been thinking about what to do to this place for a while.”

“That’s what we’re here for!” Alkali said with a big grin on his face. “Let’s not waste any time, tell us what you’re looking for.”

With one of his feathered hands behind his head, the eagle blushed a bright red. “Well, I uhh… I wanna live in a place that makes me feel like a giant.” Both otters seemed to set their tails wagging at once. “Is that possible? Can that be done, crushy?”

The two otters looked at one another as if silently sending their thoughts to the other. When they turned back their glasses were pushed up over their eyes, shining in the room’s light to hide their expressions. Except for their wide smiles that is. To Frank they looked for all the world like a pair of the most devious folks he could ever have met.

“Well,” Buizilla started, holding something behind his clipboard. “I think we can make that happen. Your secret kink is safe with us, bui bui.”

“Exactly. But wouldn’t you rather live in a place where you are a giant, rather than just feeling like it? Heh heh,” the grey furred designer said with a wink.

Wait. Secret kink? Living as a giant? Something wasn’t right here. Frank didn’t have much time to respond though before Buizilla revealed what was in his hand. It looked a bit like a squirt gun except with some blinking lights on it, and a label along the side. “Gro-Labs” or something like that. The eagle wasn’t super excited about having a water fight though so he reflexively took a step backward. And when the otters fired the ray, he covered his face expecting his jacket to get soaked.

But that never happened. There was a flash of light and then nothing. He uncovered his eyes to look around. Nothing out of place, no water, nothing. His feathers felt a bit fluffed up though and there was a tingling warmth through his chest. That was all.

PING! A button bonked the underside of Frank’s beak. Confused, he looked down to see his letter jacket missing a button. Then with another pop, a second button. Only seconds later all the buttons had come off to reveal the green, feathered chest beneath. The fabric had stretched out over his sides and the sleeves were riding up on his arms.

“What in the world…?” he muttered before his head bonked into his ceiling. His jacket tore at the arms when he raised a hand to rub the top of his tender head. It looked more like a tiny vest at this point than a jacket though. Still not sure what had happened, it only really made sense when he looked down at his designers. They were smaller. Significantly smaller actually.

“Did I get… bigger?” Frank asked. He already instinctually knew the answer though. Torn clothes. Bumped ceilings. Smaller friends. It was just like in his daydreams. The green on his face turned a new shade of red. He didn’t even know what to say.

The otters meanwhile were clearly pleased as could be. Their tails wagged together, practically in time. Alkali walked over and took Frank’s hand to lead him over to the bed. With a gentle push the eagle took a seat on the bed, accidentally damaging the frame beneath with his weight. But Alkali didn’t seem to mind.

All Frank’s tension melted as his body was warmed by the energy rushing across him. Slumping his shoulders and leaning back to rest on the bed he shivered. The room shrank around him and the eagle tweeted softly. Alkali smiled, but the designers weren’t finished yet. Alkali looked over his shoulder and nodded to Buizilla, stepping back from the eagle. Buizilla adjusted the growth ray in his hands and nodded back. Another shot of energy...

For a few moments Frank didn’t even realize anything was wrong. The stretching of his body still felt fantastic. His jacket got tighter and tighter, finally ripping away with an unmistakably loud noise. That combined with the creaking movement of his legs along the floor broke Frank from his train of thought back to the real world. He easily reached 20 feet tall in his cramped room now.

“W-What’s going on? Oooohhhh,” he moaned, unable to worry too much with the continued growth pleasure. Frank panted as he struggled to get comfy on the bed shrinking below him. With a crack the frame totally collapsed and his feathered rump landed on the floor. Buizilla and Alkali didn’t miss a beat though, helping Frank scoot backward so his back was against a wall to brace himself.

Only several minutes later of groaning growth and he’d reached 30 feet tall. Each time his growth looked like it was slowing down, one of the designers would walk over to the ray and fire at him. Clearly they wouldn’t be satisfied until the job was done completely. Now touching the ceiling again even while sitting, Frank had to start bending over to stay inside his house. The opposite wall was right up against his claws too; there wasn’t much further for him to go. These houses in the village weren’t meant to be very large after all. It especially wasn’t easy to hold still and avoid damaging his furniture with the duo of teasing mustelids below bobbing and weaving around his growing arms and legs.

But suddenly the squeaking and wagging movement of the otters stopped, and Frank saw them both step back in time. In Alkali’s hand was the growth ray, along with a devious smirk on his face. He fired once more at the overstimulated eagle. Frank knew he wasn’t going to last long and that’s exactly what Alkali and Bui were counting on. The giant grunted and moaned as he struggled to stay in his house, curling up his legs and hunching over.

Neighbors from around the village had been listening to the panting, groaning, thumping sounds coming from Frank’s house for several minutes at that point. What they could see inside the windows didn’t make much sense though. A few glimpses of otters, a wall of green feathers, and some flashes of light. Their questions were soon answered though as Frank’s head burst through the ceiling of his house and his clawed feet stretched straight through the walls. His growth slowed gently to a stop at 50 feet tall.

Still reveling in the growth, the giant eagle looked down at his neighbors with a dopey grin. “H-Hey there. Sorry for all the noise, crushy,” he said with just a hint of embarrassment. The bird pushed forward with one wing to get the rest of his house away and free himself. With his naked body now totally on view, most of the villagers gasped in surprise. Frank kept his hands in front of his crotch while his usually green face turned a shade of deep red.

Down below though, Alkali was nodding his head. “Another job well done, squeak!” he said to himself. However, there was still the growth ray… and a bigger bird was never a bad idea. He only got a short blast off though before Buizilla put a hand on the ray to take it from his designer companion. Frank didn’t mind much. He was still blushing from his previous growth session after all. 55 feet of bird loomed easily over the otters.

“Awwww, why’d you do that? He clearly wants some more,” Alkali pouted.

“Because,” Buizilla said, looking down at the growth ray. “It’s your turn now. Bui bui.”
