Themed Sketch Challenge Day 3 -- Snow (critique requested)

I figured I'd use the opportunity to do some world building.

(excerpt from the diaries of Chored Ehrat)

Having read much about some of the unique weather phenomena of the northern lands, I though myself well prepared for them. I cannot stress how wrong I was. All of the Tebedin people I have ever met with speak highly of the beauty of the snow. How such a miserably cold thing that piles up endlessly can be seen as beautiful is forever beyond me.

I spent the rest of my time up north wrapped in blankets over twice the thickness of any that countrymen would consider a rational use of time and resources, and still I felt the cold down into my very bones. The native people seemed to delight greatly in showing off their ability to prance about in the snow without such protection. (The Tebedin's reputation for nonchalance is well deserved, as several went out into it utterly naked!) I was always invited to join them out in the snow, but I always had to decline. I'm still not sure if they didn't understand the extent to which I felt the cold or were simply being polite.
