Two weeks ago, in my intro, I mentioned, I had written the main kernel of this tale, whipping out 50 pages in about 2 weeks. This chapter marks the original ending to the tale. In the original, there was no flee through the forest segment and Rick kept his mind as Rick. After sitting on it for a couple weeks it just didn't feel complete. So many tales out there only cover the transformation part, not the post-tf. Now we get into the post-tf with another 49 chapters and an epilogue to go. In the process it took two years to reach the point where I was happy with the whole thing and this first part expanded by 30 pages in the process.
