Spirit of the Wilderness by Aldin

Spirit of the Wilderness

Aldin

It's Halloween weekend. What better fitting time to dig out this old short story I wrote 25 years ago while attending Plymouth State College (now University). It had been a recurring dream that ceased when I finally wrote it down. Soon after, there was an assignment in one of my classes that it fitted well. Got an A for it and it was one of five or so turned in for that assignment that the professor read to the class (and kept each author's identity anonymous). Later that spring it was published in the yearly creative writing insert of the college's weekly newspaper, The Clock. I don't know if they had a set of criteria for what got published or if they published everything they received, but at least I can claim I've had one piece of work published. (chuckle) It was also the first time I used the pen name, "Aldin".
