Some more art completed in between all of the other stuff I’ve been up to this month!

Though I wouldn’t come up with the idea until about a year later and with another design, I still consider Sir Fireback to be the first character I ever designed for Feather Knights, as I likely wouldn’t have chosen that particular source of inspiration right away if his design hadn’t been based on a bird to begin with. At the time, his design was just a quick concept I made after I saw the bird he’s based on at an end-of-year school trip to the zoo, and I haven’t done much with him since, so it was high time he got an upgrade!

He dual wields his swords and fans, both of which are double sided to go along with the “fireback” idea. His fans also evoke the look of a peacock’s feathers, so maybe he and my Peacock Knight could get along ;) I’m not entirely sure what his role in the story is yet, but given his theming of doubles, perhaps he is a double agent between the kingdom of Irivell and their enemies. Whose side is he truly on? I guess we’ll have to find out!
