I really wanted to draw Cassie again so I figured I’d update her key art while I was at it :’D Fiddled with her proportions a bit (again lol) and veeeeery slightly adjusted her colours.

It was interesting to modify her details and colours after so long, as the changes are very subtle but still speak to the evolution of the style I chose for this series as time has gone on, especially with so many characters designed at this point. She’s still at what I’d consider a medium to light level of detail compared to some of the others, which I think is good for a protagonist and as one of the only main characters with modern styled clothing at that.

When it comes to my character work lately, the improvements I’ve noticed have been pretty minor; things like my ability to render smaller details like shoelaces without cluttering the design, my increased knowledge of how to wield max saturation in colour palettes, and slightly better facial feature and anatomy structures.

Open mouth expressions in particular are harder for me, but this one came out really nicely and Cassie’s happy little face has been a prime source of joy for me for a while ;u; My sweet girl… if my life wasn’t total shit I’d have finished your comic by now 😭
