Hey, how are we all doing today? It’s been a little while but I’ve got another design that might brighten your day. :)

This is Flicker! At least, that’s what Cassie calls them, as the energy they emit flickers a bit like a candle flame. They’re the remnant of an ancient guardian spirit that activates the zodiac portal, considered one of the last remaining connections between Earth and the Astral Plane. Awakened by Cassie when she first finds the portal, Flicker doesn’t remember much of their past life, but they do know their prime directive: Protect the portal. And by extension, the Starglass.

I’ve drawn them perched on Cassie’s head to give you an idea of how small they are, but that’s probably where you’ll find them most of the time anyway, sticking close to Cassie by hiding in her hair. Cassie’s eye can detect when a corrupted spirit is near, but Flicker can do so with a wider range, and can identify which spirit is in need of rescue. This isn’t always fun when one tries to find Cassie at 4am, but what can you do?

I’ve drawn this character a smattering of times in the past, but this is the first time I actually sat down to make their ref sheet with symbol integration, so I consider this their first “official” design. A cute little friend. :’D
