This week hasn’t been the best for my emotional state and therefore my art, but I’m glad to say I got this done at least! I’ve been meaning to update Centaurus’s design to incorporate his symbol like the others, but I took it a step further.

I wanted to lean in more on the concepts that I already established with him two years ago, namely his role as an astrographer, which is why I gave him a constellation-like pattern on his outfit (it vaguely resembles his own, actually). His palette is still similar to Corvus, but I think the addition of blue aids in the separation and building of this concept, as if his clothing mimics the night sky he’s mapping.

When he is first introduced in the comic, it’s possible that he will be mistaken for Sagittarius, as that constellation is usually depicted as a horse centaur with a bow, but I’m honestly not too bothered by that idea. Rus looks up to his mentor a lot, and took up archery as a means to learn more from him, so I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad idea to have his design take after Sagittarius in some way. I’ve got some tweaks to Sagittarius’s design that I want finish up as well, so I’ll see how they look together.
