I’m on a roll with these it seems! :D I’ll admit it’s really satisfying seeing full colour designs on their character profiles, but I’ve still got a few left as far as the zodiac companions go. This is Orion, Taurus’s companion! He took a lot workshopping in terms of deciding on the colour scheme (like, all day lol). Earth tones in general are not colours I use often, but this was good practice.

Similar to Perseus, I went for a sort of “role reversal” idea with Orion to make his concept more interesting. The deer elements added to this idea, as I thought it was interesting to associate a prey animal with someone famous for their hunting ability. Despite being blind, his other senses are heightened, and he can sense movement from very far away.

I had to resist giving him animal legs like Perseus for the sake of variety, but I couldn’t resist giving him a fluffy little tail to match his hair. xD He and Perseus get along quite well, as Orion’s blindness negates all of Percy’s appearance-based fears, and they have similar goals in terms of redeeming their past incarnations. With Taurus’s help, Orion strives to use his tracking skills to find lost creatures of the Astral Plane and bring them back safe, rather than hunt them for sport.
