Some snakes can make for excellent hatchling sitters, since they're not only firm yet gentle with the young ones when it comes to getting them to settle down, but they also serve as very snug and comfy living sleeping bags!
This young female python was hired by a dragon family to watch over their energetic little hatchi while they went off to go do dragon-y things together, and when it came time for bed, the little hatchi refused to go to the nest for naptime! Thus, the hatchling sitter snake coiled around the young one and began swallowing him whole to take him to the nest herself.
Once fully inside her belly, she slithered into the nest and fell asleep, her tummy gurgling happily as it massaged the wiggly hatchling inside who refused to go to sleep himself.
Heh, typed that up on the spot. But the idea of a large snake watching over dragon hatchlings or eggs, and swallowing them when it came time for them to quiet down and sleep... I found it cute and wanted to use it x)

Heee~ I've got a bit of a softspot for alligator and crocodile swallowings. I'd draw some myself but they're on my "Why are these so damn hard to draaaaw?! ;3;" list ^^;
Never been able to draw them well...I like the cartoony harmless stuff best as well, though sometimes I do stray into digestion and the like, I always keep the end result as harmless (And remove any pain and stuff too. Takes all the fun out of it when there's pain :< )
