Here is my character, Lenora, doing what she enjoys best - hanging out in a ghostly gum tree. She is what I call an ‘Ain’, a creature that is a vessel for the spiritual energy of the world’s fauna. They always have the head, torso, and arms of a human, but the ears, legs, tail and wings of an animal. They’re inspired by creatures like centaurs and satyrs!

Despite the fact that so many of my characters live in places of foliage, I actually don’t enjoy drawing plants very much :^D Well, usually. I tried a new method here where I painted the background with leaves first, THEN the tree branches, and actually liked the result! : D Also, the branch in the foreground was more fun to draw than usual in this slightly sketchy style >w< And the shading was also super fun! I haven’t done highly contrasting shadows and highlights for a while. It feel good = w=
