This was a little gift for my dad's 60th birthday. He always seems to like seeing my creature art so I figured he might enjoy something like this.

These are two of my original species native to Purithym, the region my pirate stories take place in. On the left is a torthuvac, a marsupial apex predator, and on the right is an orycampus, a large but fairly gentle sea creature. This is both species' debut in my actual gallery, though the discerning among you may recognise the orycampus as the figurehead on the ship in my profile banner. Yep, orycampuses were actually one of the earlier Purithyan species I developed, I just never got around to posting any art of them here for some reason. As for torthuvacs, they've been around in descriptions and sketches for some time, but this was the first time I've actually coloured one. As such, their colours/markings aren't 100% finalised and you may see some tweaks to them in future. I guess you can think of this as the alpha torthuvac design. Hopefully we'll see more of them soon enough!
