"Hungry Muses" Art Supplies Carrier

Abbi Normal

So this is what I keep my art supplies in now! :) Those markers in the marker-slots are the ones from my post a while ago about my amazing 80's GLAM MARKERS! Nem Rocking

Most of it was actually originally made from the legs of my boyfriend's pants. He wanted me to hem some of his camo pants into shorts this past summer, and I thought the fabric was too cool a pattern to waste. I looked at it, and I thought to myself, "I want to put markers in there". So it has tons of pockets, several of which are inside the two purple main pockets (the monster heads flip up and button-snap down as a pocket flap). Basically everything with a monster face on it is a pocket, and then some. The decals of the skull and the alien are some simple designs I did ages ago and have posted here. The pencil case also has to pockets, to separate pencil crayons from watercolour pencil crayons. The main clasp is the tentacle there, that's big and round with a button-snap on the end, the other side of which is on the back. Bits of elastic with button snaps help secure it, and another button-down elastic strap in the middle holds my sketchbook in place. The writing around the skull says Abbi Normal on one side, and a Latin phrase on the other that translated to, "Art for art's sake". The eyes of the monsters/Muses* are printed onto decals and ironed onto black felt, then glued ot the faces.

*The original mythical muses were known for slowly driving their chosen artists to madness and death, driving them to create things that please the muse, until their ultimate demise.

That feel, right?
