Ignatius the Baby Fire Dragon by Abbi Normal

Ignatius the Baby Fire Dragon

Abbi Normal

Ignatius gro Krönax III slithered out of his eggshell, bright eyed and fiery-tailed the moment he was born. Chipper and enthusiastic with boundless energy, he may be adorable now, but he is a fire dragon. They have basically the greatest difference in size between adult and young of any animal who ever lived. Right now, Ignatius, or Iggy to his friends, is only about nine inches through the body, to the tip of his nose, and a little longer again that length in his tail. You can comfortably hold him on your lap or shoulder, hide him in a backpack or under your bed, carry him under your arm, or lay him across your pillow (careful of the live flame on his tail tip). In a few years--how many depends on the food supply, could be thousands of years, could be five--he'll have lost his soft, downey baby fur and attained his adult size. His adult size will be at least as tall as a residential apartment block. His father, Krönax gro Urug VII, is a lawyer who works at a firm on Bay Street in Toronto, and also is a fire dragon (like many lawyers. The judges tend to be gryphons), and also is roughly the size of the SkyDome.

Ignatius is fully poseable, and very light. His skeleton is made of a single layer of wire, and much of the bulk of the sculpted parts is filled with aluminum foil. A bit of duct tape reinforces his neck and spine, but this is the only other support than the wire. This leaves him extremely flexible, as you can see by the pictures in his full gallery folder, where he's play-bowing like a puppy and perching and climbing and stuff, as well as extremely light--custom Imaginary Friends of his size would be very easy and cheap to ship. Hint hint hint. Haha. Around the wire is wrapped and sewn in place cotton batting, as from a quilt, and then over that, thick soft plush fabric, so he's also very squeezable and cuddly.

Ignatius the Baby Fire Dragon is one of Abbi Normal's "Imaginary Friends" ooak creatures.
