Odille, meeting her mother and finding she's nothing like she thought she was. Living a life of strife and coldness, under the iron fist of a father who saw them little more than war fodder. An end to a means. Her brother, Kiernan, gone, her sister Dharjeeling, wearing herself thinner and thinner. The unrelenting terror that her younger siblings would meet the same fate, and the only thing keeping that at bay is looking for their mother.

And finding her, and realizing she's not an all powerful Clan Leader, or Madam Alpha. She's weak and sad and beaten into subjugation to something that is so far beneath her deserved rank.

"You were supposed to be our Savior! You were supposed to save us!"
And she looked at Odille, her eyes full of darkness of the ocean waves she saw as familiar. A fanged grin that was full of warmth and deviousness. Of what home was supposed to feel like.
