A tall building with a dark look of a castle to it was Neo thought of the 'academy' from the exterior. but neo knew what it really looked like in the daytime, It had a look of a fortress on the outside, but a style of a small 14th century city on the interior. And inside is where the academy classes/guilds are held. the academy is divided into two parts by a wall for one reason: to prevent the interaction of normal furries and humans with the guild system. they don't what other people knowing the existence of magic and guilds. only those who have knowledge about the guilds may enter. since Neo had gotten a high score in the test ,Neo had the privilege to start off as a colonel with his own squadron but, he choose to be a squire (the rank all newcomers in the guild start off as) in the guild part of the academy. most people in the guild system had housing in the barracks but, since Neo had to give the impression he was a student in the academy, he had a dorm in the college side of the academy with a normal furry to prevent suspicion.

The guild system part of the Academy has an opening ceremony a day before the college part of the academy opens. the opening ceremony is only to welcome the new members to their guild and find what is expected of them and given the uniforms they must wear for their guild. The solider's guild uniform consists of a dull gray camouflage pants, black combat boots, and a black shirt with the design of the solider' s guild, a rising sun behind a blood red sword and black shield, with their rank stamped on their sleeves. the commanding officers have a few alterations to their uniforms: a white shirt instead of black, an ash colored beret.

Neo set up his schedule to have some days in the guild and other days to be in the college studying to be a novelist. it will be kind of difficult for neo to hide his experience as a combatant from other normal furries and humans. he'll have to give the impression he's a shy, quiet person who rarely talks.

"Well, time to start moving into my new dorm." neo says while switching out of his uniform and into normal clothes: a light blue shirt and black pants. "first i should see how the dorm looks before i start unpacking anything." after he finishes changing, he starts walking to the dorms. as he's walking down a path to where the dorms are, he passes by a few members of the dragonguard. they all give him a look of disgust when they see that he doesnt have a necklace that all dragonguard members get.

"ugh, i bet you this dragonite never wielded a sword in his whole life."

"look at that! even his wings are small!"

"lets get going and leave this wimp alone!"

that is what neo hear from the dragonguard members while they're walking off to the barracks.

"so this is the dorms i'll be living in". Neo says while standing in front of a two story building with the name "the wyrm dorms".

"I noticed that some of the dorms are named after dragon races. I wonder if the main buildings are named dragon races too" says neo in his head.

neo enters the building and notices right away there's a strong scent of cider and something else in the air. "i guess that smell must just be to give you a warm feeling of home" neo says.

The style of the common room has a high class but modern look to it: a flat screen tv mounted on a wall with a enterainment system underneath it. a leather couch in front of the tv and a few recliners by it and a small table in front of a window overlooking the lake the academy has. "this sure is a cozy place. i hope the dorms look just as nice." neo says while starting to go up stairs to where he'll be staying.

"well here it is". he says in front of a door with the sign 'Room 521' on it.

"I hope it looks good."

"Wow! it looks so cool!" He exclaims while looking in awe at his new room.

The dorm has its own modern kitchen and laundry room. even the bathroom is modern! the living room has a double wide couch and a HD TV mounted on the wall. theres a set of sliding doors to the patio overlooking the academy garden/healer's guild. there are two seprate bedrooms instead of sharing a bunk with his roomate. the bed room has a king sized bed, a computer desk, a bookshelf, and a set of tropic wood drawers."they really went all out getting this place set up." "i guess i should start moving my things now."

A few tiring trips to and from his truck later......

"There we are". He says while placing a box labeled 'private things' in his room. "Now to bring my last three boxes and i'll only have to unpack them".

On his way back from his truck carrying the last boxes, he's startled by a voice saying " excuse me sir". He turns around and sees a gray wolf.

"Do you know where the healers guild at?" He says

"its by the the lake near the academy gardens." Neo says

"Thank you!" The wolf says walking off with a skip in his step

"Hmph".

"Time to get these boxes to my dorm".

"there, all done". Neo says while putting down his last box labeled 'college books'. "Now for the hard part, unpacking this stuff".

few hours of getting his stuff unpacked.....

"there we go, that should be it". he says putting up his last book on the shelf. As he turns to go to the kitchen, Neo notices his box labeled 'private things' hasn't been unpacked. "Oh, i must have forgotten to unpack that too. I'll put that on the top shelf of my closet so no one, even me can't see what secrets i have." He takes the box and puts it in the far corner of his closet's top shelf.

As he walks into the living room, he sees the gifts his parents gave him before he left his home. "i guess now would be a good time to see what they gave me". He grabs the gift his dad gave him. Its a long package wrapped in brown paper."Woah! this must be a weapon since it weighs like 50lbs". As he unwraps it, he gasps in awe. A 18in. sword with a pale yellow tint to match the color of his scales. the crossguard has a design of a dragon baring its fangs at its foe, the pommel has a unique touch: two hands grasping the topaz on the pommel. but what has him puzzled is that one of the hands is a wolf's paw and the other is a dragon's hand.

there's a short letter with the sword as well. it reads:
Dear son, this sword was styled after the unique bond that dragons had with the wolves during the great war before all the dragon knights were wiped out. your grandfather designed this sword for you when you turned 18 but never got a chance to get it made. so i took the liberty of asking one of his colleagues to forge it. this sword had some spell woven into it while it was forged to protect it from breaking. i hope you love it. the color i thought would go good with your scales!!

Neo gives a few swings of the sword and notices how balanced the sword is, like it was meant for him.

"Time to see what my mom gave me". He opens the package and sees it a talisman. he sees it has two designs on it, one half is a dragon's head and the other half is a wolf's head. he finds a note inside and it reads: son, i bought this at mystic store while i was buying something for your dad. the lady who sold it me said that it protects the wearer from dark magic.

As he puts the talisman on, he feels a rush of power flow into him. "Wow, now thats a rush" he says. He takes the sword and puts it in a trunk he brought to put his guild stuff in. after a cool relaxing shower, he puts on a shirt that has "Bite me" in large letters in the front and some pajamas. "well time for bed". he says as he gets into bed and starts to doze off thinking of how tired he'll be tomorrow.
