This is a 7 month old submission from FA:

This has been an on and very off project of mine since mid-February of 2014. Probably averaging one day a week for 6 months.
The inspiration and goal for this project came from my good friend Zenuel Zenuel, whom released a free to hear album (is that a thing?) called, you guessed it, "The Polygon Playground".
My desire was to program a 'music driven' interactive media, and his album art inspired me to bring his music to life, using his album art! And thus this fairly performance heavy eye candy was born!
I did my best to optimize it, I swear. I brought it's frame-rate up by 1600% and CPU usage down by 350% roughly. I do hope it runs well and smooth on your machine c: Enjoy!.

Generic Controls and Interface Info

  • Clicking anywhere that is not interactive hides/shows the menu tracks.
  • Clicking the lil speaker mutes the audio.
  • The number and numpad number keys work for selecting the tracks, where 0 is the menu track.
  • Arrow keys UP and DOWN also adjust the volume.
  • Arrow key RIGHT skips the current song, if applicable.
  • Arrow key LEFT goes to the previous track, if there is one in history.
  • The five icons under the volume bar select playstyle:
  1. Go back to the menu music after the track is finished.
  2. Repeats the currently playing track, track loop.
  3. Cycles through all the songs chronologically then goes back to the menu music, this is DEFAULT.
  4. Same as 3, except it loops indefinitely.
  5. Typical shuffle.

FAQ/etc

  • This was written from scratch, particles included. I chose to do so because it gave me better control for optimization on the lower functioning levels.
  • This was made purely using the free IDE FlashDevelop.
  • Any and all critique is welcome, as I plan on including this piece in my portfolio!

The file does not seem to be working...It worked on FA, does anyone have any idea why this might occur?
