Hunter, Hunter by Doran Eirok

Hunter, Hunter, where you been?
Forest, mountain, desert, fen?
Distant lands your boots have tread
Deepest black and barren red.

Titan, Titan, what you heard?
From the bulwark, what's the word?
Keep us safe behind the wall
Save us from our final fall.

Warlock, Warlock, what you seen?
In your volumes, ruins, dreams?
Find the secrets locked in time
Ancient whispers from our prime.

Traveler, Traveler, where's your song?
Dead or sleeping, stilled too long.
Why the silent, darkened years?
Why've you left us to our fears?

Hunter, Hunter

Doran Eirok

Still being very fixated on the deeper lore of Destiny, lurking in the grimoire cards and fan speculation even if it's still frustratingly sparse within the main gameplay itself.

Sometimes on arrival in the Tower, one of the NPC robot frames will greet you with a quote like 'where have you been, Hunter?' or 'what have you seen, Warlock?' These quotes lodged in my brain and made this happen.

The dodgy English is deliberate. Seemed to fit the meter, and I picture this as being some sort of traditional poem or song or ballad that might be heard among the common folk down in the City. Gazing up at the Tower day by day, watching the Guardian ships come and go, wondering where they're off to and how close their society is to the end of all things. Maybe it's a song parents sing to their children during the long nights to teach and remind them of the different classes of those who fight to push back the Darkness.
