So today while making soap, I had to wait for the coffee to cool before I added the lye (today's batch was, obviously, coffee scented). While it was in the freezer I spent a bit of time outside photographing our regulars just for fun and practice.
Man, no one who has a fear of birds ever needs to step foot in our backyard. The whole time I was sitting outside, there was a bird within one foot of me in any direction, birds flying inches from my head, some trying to land on my head, birds birds BIRDS. I've really spoiled them, but they've spoiled me as well. When I'm out there with them, either watching or photographing or doing whatever, I don't have to be quiet or still, they don't really care about sudden movements, I can scratch my nose, cough, look around, sit comfortably... It's pretty much the easiest birding experience ever.
Here's a photo from today. This titmouse almost looks like a stuffed toy, all puffed up from a chilly breeze.
