This was a really special piece that was asked privately by a long time friend, for a very special long time friend.

For a while Callie has been putting up with everything life has sent her way and she had a shining little light in her life named Ashley, in the form of a small papillon.

I always admired Callie for how she treated Ashley. For the last 10 years shes shelled out funds to keep the little dog going when I think anyone else would have given up on her. She was determined to give her a long and happy life though she was riddled with illnesses. In the videos I saw of her, and all of the pictures, she had a sweet temperament and a loving puppy heart, but best of all, she was by Callies side.

Recently her illnesses caught up to her and before Christmas she had to be laid to rest. Red, one of her housemates, poked me privately on Facebook regarding a commission for her. I thought I'd have no time but I was determined to see that this image was ready to surprise her with by Christmas so I keep working through the weekends to make sure it was ready.

Callie, I love you dearly. You've always been there for me when I needed you, and even though we're so far apart now you still have a place in my heart.
