The fire's crackling nicely as he poured his mate a glassful of sweet, spiced, red wine, bubbling over the flames.
She smiles up to him and they talk about the year that has passed them by. The harvest is done, winter is here and the cold has come.

Now it's time to stock up, make merry and keep warm together under their snug roof and sleep the frost out.
With another log tended to the flames, they sit, drink and gaze at each other, laughing.

"A good year would you not say?" she whispers
"True" replies the male "But perhaps an even better one to come."
