Enfys Ellezard in Aventura Avanicus, fending off the boss of the dungeon, Grab Volucris. A drawing I made to go along with one of the chapters I am planning. It helps to have the whole thing visualized and ready.

"We really went way too deep in this shit, you know." Enfys could only mutter as he hid himself behind one of the rocks along with his friends, Volfram and Katzix. The three did not except there to be a huge monster in the third floor of Aventura Avanicus. They were planning to just grab a loot or two and leave to help Katzix with his plan which needed some funds to get going. "Looks like it won't be leaving anytime soon."

"Guess we don't have much a choice but to wait for it to go." Volfram spoke as he began to lie down on the ground, ready to take a nap. "Wake me up when it's gone then."

"I don't think waiting is an option either, nya." Katzix pointed out that the door they entered form was slowly closing for some reason. Maybe the mechanic they used to open the door had a timer in it to lock people for venturing in too deep alone where they either die to the monster or from starvation. It was then that Volfram remembered what Liel told them about the group who were living in their house before them that died in a dungeon expedition.

"Well. Fuck. Can't believe a random treasure hunting will get us killed like the last group."

"I guess I have no choice then." Enfys stood up and looked at his team. Out of the three, he's the only one with a range attack flashy enough to capture the monster's attention. "Guess I'm stuck taking the decoy role."

"No fucking way, Enfys." Volfram disagreed. There was no way he would let his best friend sacrifice himself like that.

"There must be another way, nya." Katzix didn't want it either. It had not even been a year since Junon passed away. He wouldn't agree to letting his friends die again so soon.

"Stop assuming I'm trying to sacrifice myself for idiots like you, damn it." Enfys shook his head before he continued. "If we stay and do nothing, we all die. I'm pretty sure I'm quick enough to avoid the monster attack. You two just need to out there and keep the door open so I can try and escape afterward. Don't forget that unlike you two, I can easily go into stealth and run. If my instinct is right, this boss should behave like an MMO raid boss in games I played. It should stick to attacking with its claws for now until I inflict enough damage. If I position myself correctly, I can use the walls around here to protect me from it."

"I can't believe you're using such a bullshit logic at a time like this." Volfram stood up and grabbed Enfys.

"C-calm down, nya!"

"Please don't make it any harder than it should be Volfram."

"You're the one making it harder. There should be another choice."

"Face it, Volf, there isn't. This is our best choice. I didn't want to do it either. You know that going on a suicide mission like this isn't me but if it's the only choice where most of us can make it out alive, then I have no choice but to take it. Please, let me do my duty as our leader."

"...Ch" Volfram threw Enfys on the ground before he faced away.

"Volfram,nya..."

"Do whatever you want then. Just remember that no one really voted you as the leader so make sure you get your ass out of here alive so we can actually decide."

"...Don't be putting down death flags for me, Volfram. Well then, I guess I better get going. I came up with just the right move for this. Just get ready to run back the moment I give you the signal." Enfys stood back up and began casting the fire magic he often used to fight his opponents. However, he added in an additional spell to contain those fire into many tiny magical orbs. "Guess I better give this move its deserving name then. 'Death stunt', maybe. Hope I don't end up dead for this."

"None of us is dying today, nya..."

"Don't worry, Katz. I don't plan on dying today either. Liel would surely be sad if she has to fantasize about Volfy sleeping with you instead."

"Wh-nya?"

Enfys ran off be himself, taking the path that leads him deeper into the dungeon. Seeing that he was far away from his friends, he threw the magical orbs he made right into the monster's face.

"Release!"

The orbs were broken. The force that was contained inside each orb bursted out, causing a huge explosion right at the monster's face, capturing its attention with all the damage inflicted. Volfram and Katzix, seeing the explosion, sprinted toward the door from behind the monster's back.

"If I get out of this, I'm not giving the team any of the gold I cleaned from the well."
