Manga Studio 5 Test

Kaze-Breeze-Katakage

My artist friend, Crimes, recommended the program Manga Studio 5 for me to try. After some reluctance (since I am absolutely in love with Paint Tool SAI), I decided to give it a try.

OH.
MY.
GOODNESS.

I was NOT disappointed! Manga Studio 5 is the almost perfect marriage between Photoshop and Paint Tool SAI that I have been looking for! Plus, it has amazing tools for comics, which is something I dabble in on occasion.

This doodle-derp of my real-life self was created entirely in Manga Studio 5 from start to finish. The lines were made using the vector line tool, which is very similar to the line layer in SAI. The screen tone feature is a completely unique feature to Manga Studio 5 that I've always wanted to play with, so I gave it a bit of a go. I think I did alright.

I look forward to working more with Manga Studio 5 in the future. I have little to no complaints about the program. If you want to try it out, you can find it here: http://manga.smithmicro.com/mangastudio5/
