Kei Stands Out (Page 6)

QuigleyDownUnder

When the pride awoke the next morning, their hunting grounds were coated in thick, white ash. They were panic-stricken. “How will we hunt?” Kei’s brother, Eco, exclaimed. “We can no longer hide ourselves from our prey. We’ll starve!” Kei finally realized that this was his moment, the chance to prove that he was just as valuable as any other member of the pride. “I can hunt,” he stated boldly, “With my white coat, the other animals won’t even know I’m there.” “You’ll never be able to do it Kei,” scoffed a young lioness named Azuka, “Just face it, you’re no good to us, you don’t belong here”.
