I watched her crawl up to me on all fours across the bed sheets, wobbling slightly under the effects of the wine we'd finished minutes before. I couldn't help but smile when she almost slipped and tumbled into my lap. I instinctively caught her in my arms and she looked up at me with large mauve eyes, framed by their sooty lashes.

"You're so cute when you're drunk." I chuckled, overwhelmed with adoration for Lily as I often was. She grinned at me, her cheeks aglow with a warm, rosy blush.

"No I'm not... YOU are!" She blurted out, swaying as she pointed a finger within range of my nose, pressing the tip of her index finger against it with a sound that resembled a "beep".

"Ok, you got me." I said, a serious look on my face, raising my hands at her. A second later, she'd leaped at me; her slender arms snaking their way around my shoulders and locking behind my neck.

"Maybe I'm drunk... but I think I love you." She murmured into my ear as I embraced her, taken off-guard by her proclamation.
