'For a mining town, McGenna Gulch is unusual in that it is built entirely underground, populating a large, hollow space within the mountain on which it rests. While it boasts all the normal perks a traveler might be searching for when passing through, the many noisy machines and various lamps tinted in different shades (to warn miners about various goings on in the mines below at all hours of the day and night) make it a difficult place to sleep in. This guide does not recommend trying to sleep in the Inn if you are a light sleeper. This is a very noisy town, filled with machines and smoke. Please be aware of that when you are passing through.' ~ Guide to the Northern Wastes, Elian Year 1877
Originally, this tune, which is the BGM for McGenna Gulch, was written as a 16-bit piece using a SEGA Genesis soundfont. I left a few of those sounds in this version. :3
That instrument was fun to play around with. xD Would you believe it's a standard 'choir' patch with distortion on it?
Distortion can make everything very different. I once sent my voice through distortion... I totally sounded metal LOL
It certainly was. And when some adaptors arrive I will be experimenting with that and other stuff again using my Yamaha DS2416 sound cards DSP power. Realtime effects ! I hope to get some really great voice recordings with some stuff applied realtime (and without latency). My voice is kinda low for stuff I want to sing but I'll see how things will end up ^^
