Kaseko kept his body low as he crawled through the scene in silence. His body tense and fur on end as the tents and cages towed above him. He crept deeper into the camp these strange hairless apes created. Coals burned on a dying fire, trapped by stones at it’s core. The lion paused hearing the fire crackle and sizzle. “You are from the outside.”
The sudden statement startled Kaseko and he looked into the cage besides him. A large golden Tiger stared at him and Kaseko stared back. He took a moment before nodding standing to his full height but leaving his head low. “I am.” he whispered back.
The golden tiger slunk from his corner of the cage and took place in a new corner closer to the lion. He seemed to be rather interested in Kaseko reaching a paw around the bar of his strange prison and laying down to reach the lion’s face. Kaseko saw a curiosity burning in the tigers eyes that made him tilt his head. Had he been the first to approach? Or was he the only one that had managed to get this close? Maybe he was this way with any stranger that had been investigating the strange camps? No matter the reason the Tiger had made his presence known, in some capacity. He nervously swallowed listening about for any sounds that would alert him to anything sneaking up on him.
“What are these creatures?” Kaseko whispered. The tiger frowned, “Have you never seen a human?”
“Human?” Kaseko repeated. The concept was foreign to him as his grandmother had never mentioned or hinted at the existence of such creatures. He looked about at the camp stopping to stare at the dead fire. The light glow of the coals a dim light to the camp. “What are your crimes?” Kaseko whispered with his own sense of curiosity. “Crime?” The tiger whispered, “I have committed no crime.”
Kaseko’s head turned back to him. “No? But why the prison?”
“Stranger… this is my home.”
The lion’s eyes fell to the ground in pity. His home? That couldn’t be.
However his time there was short, and the sound of movement startled the lion as he turned to see one of the tent flaps push aside and a ‘human’ looking out.

Just slightly short of a short story. lol.Still pretty proud.
