Story:

"Simple and Effective, Something Both Underwhelming and Overwhelming!"

Flame, one of the first spells any wizard would learn
before anything else. Really easy magic too since all
you would need to do to make fire is to summon up
any magic, in general, to make a spark and feed magic
into that spark to until you have a roaring flame.
A great spell to start off with since all spells are based
on that fundamental idea.

Like learning how to make fire before you can cook.

Usually, after learning this trick, The normal mage would
hone their skills in other areas like Healing, Conjuring,
Enhancing and so on but a certain mage wonders why
others don't see the potential in these fundamentals!

He realized not only the potential the starting spell "Flame"
had but, the potential in all newbie level spells!

He wasn't looking to make the range wider, The Flames
hotter or anything like that. He found out that these spells
had NO CAP to the amount of magical energy you could
pour into them without losing control of them!

Usually, with higher-level spells, it took higher-level mages
to control them but, These spells for newbies were so easy
to control that he could pack all of is energy into a single
blast and still control it well enough to use it as an incredibly
bright nightlight!

Sure it lacks the flair of a "Hell's Incinerator" and the
specialization of "Simmering Cinders" but this blast
is not only so jam-packed
with magic that it's changed
the very color of the flames to white! But Could more than
easily blast a Stone Golem a good 10 yards away on contact!

He may be level 1 but, With this truth pushed to its no-limits,
He's able
to use his newbie magic with as much control and
power that he could go toe to toe with warlocks!
