In many places for cockfighting people get a slap on the wrist, parole, 500$ fine, the cops look passed it, the police are involved with it themselves, where dog fighting you will for sure get prison time, everyone cares about it and everyone is involved when it comes to ending it. The dogs are often rehabilitated and found new homes where people don't really want or cannot have roosters. Many many roosters die because people do not care for chickens the way they would a dog. A few rescues I know have saved many of these roosters from being euthanized. I have two ex fighters from one of these rescues myself and am getting another two. Please don't be speciest when it comes to laws protecting animals.
