Raichu had always been one of my most favorite Pokemon ever. I admit, I'm actually more biased towards the "ordinary", or Kantonian, Raichu. When the Alolan variant was announced, I couldn't help but feeling a little betrayed, seeing that the Kantonian Raichu had already been, in my eyes, "perfect", and I don't want that to change. Then again, I was probably tainted by all these fanmade Pokemon concepts with altered types and abilities, hence my initial reaction over the announcement of the Alolan Pokemon variant. It took me a while to get used to and love the Alolan Raichu as well.
